After more than two years, HUAWEI has finally launched the new Mate series devices — HUAWEI Mate50 and HUAWEI Mate50 Pro. Both phones are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G chip, which doesn’t support 5G connectivity.
The HUAWEI Mate50 sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ 90Hz OLED flat display, while the Pro model gets a 6.74-inch Full HD+ 120Hz OLED curved side display. The Mate50 Pro also has Kunlun Glass protection, which HUAWEI claims to be 10 times stronger than standard glasses. The Pro model also gets a Vegan leather back cover.
In terms of camera, both phones have a triple-camera setup with the same 50MP Ultra Aperture primary camera that can switch the aperture between f/1.4 to f/4.0. There’s also a 13MP ultra-wide camera and a telephoto camera — the Mate50 has a 12MP 5x telephoto camera, while the Pro model has a 64MP 3.5x telephoto camera. Both phones have a 13MP ultra-wide front camera, but only the Pro model has a 3D depth-sensing camera for facial unlock.
The Mate50 has a 4,460mAh battery and the Pro model has a bigger 4,700mAh battery. The duo supports both wired 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge and wireless 50W HUAWEI SuperCharge. Both phones are also IP68-rated for splash, water, and dust resistance.
