As expected, the Huawei Mate 10 series has made its official debut in Munich, Germany. Similar to last year, there are three devices in the series — Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and Mate 10 Porsche Design.
Huawei Mate 10
The Mate 10 sports a 5.9-inch QHD (2,560 x 1,440) LCD display that supports HDR10. The fingerprint sensor has been moved to the front of the device, below the screen. Powering the device is the company’s latest Kirin 970 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Huawei claims that the Kirin 970 is the world’s first AI processor for smartphones with a dedicated Neural Network Processing Unit (NPU).
In terms of camera, the Mate 10 now packs the new Leica Dual Camera with SUMMILUX-H lenses, both featuring f/1.6 aperture. Huawei states that its camera comes with intelligent photography including AI-powered Real-Time Scene and Object Recognition and AI-powered Bokeh Effect.
The Mate 10 has a huge 4,000mAh battery, which supports SuperCharge and is TÜV certified. With SuperCharge, the phone is able to juice up 58% in 30 minutes. Not to forget that the device is also IP53 splash resistant.
Finally, the Huawei Mate 10 runs on EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. The phone now supports Smart Screen, which converts to a desktop when you connect the phone to an external monitor.
The Huawei Mate 10 comes in four colors: Black, Mocha Brown, Champagne Gold, and Pink Gold.
Huawei Mate 10 Pro
As for the Mate 10 Pro, it is almost similar to the Mate 10 — Kirin 970 SoC, Leica Dual Camera with SUMMILUX-H lenses ( f/1.6), 4,000mAh battery with SuperCharge, and EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Mate 10 Pro sports a 6-inch Full HD+ (2,160 x 1,080) 18:9 FullView display with OLED technology. The phone has more RAM and internal storage at 6GB and 128GB, respectively. The device is IP67 certified for water and dust resistant, but gone is the 3.5mm audio jack. The rest are pretty much same as the Mate 10.
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro comes in four colors: Titanium Grey, Midnight Blue, Pink Gold, and Mocha Brown.
Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design
Finally, here comes the premium Mate 10 with Porsche Design! In terms of specs, the Porsche Design Mate 10 is similar to the Mate 10 Pro. However, it does come with 256GB internal storage, that’s two times of the Mate 10 Pro.
The other difference of the Porsche Design Mate 10 is its design. The Porsche Design Mate 10 comes in Diamond Black, and its rear glass has a ceramic-like finish. Most importantly, there’s a “Porsche Design” logo right below the display.
Additionally, the Porsche Design Mate 10 comes with custom fonts and wallpapers. Retail box wise, it comes with:
- Porsche Design Flip Leather Case
- 2 x SuperCharge USB Type-C chargers (UK and EU plugs)
- USB Type-C Hi-Res Audio earphones
- 2 x USB Type-C cables
- Limited Edition VIP card
