We don’t get to see the new Huawei Mate series at IFA 2016, but Huawei didn’t let us down, the company has just announced two new smartphones in the Nova series — Nova and Nova Plus.
To be honest, the Huawei Nova looks a lot like the Nexus 6P. The device sports a 5-inch Full HD display under the 2.5D curved glass. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
The Huawei Nova has a 12MP rear camera with 1.25μm pixel size. Selfie wise, there’s an 8MP front-facing shooter with Beauty Makeup 2.0 and Beautiful Skin 3.0 applications. Surprisingly, the device is able to record 4K video despite being marketed as a mid-range device.
The Huawei Nova has a 3,020mAh battery and there’s a new fingerprint sensor on its back which supports faster and more accurate 360-degree unlocking.
The Huawei Nova Plus, which has higher specs compared to the regular Nova, sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display (with 2.5D curved glass). The device is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
Camera wise, the Nova Plus has a higher 16MP rear camera with 1.12μm pixel size and OIS. The device also has the same 8MP front-facing camera with Beauty Makeup 2.0 and Beautiful Skin 3.0 applications. Like the Nova, the Nova Plus is also able to record 4K video.
The Huawei Nova Plus also has the same fingerprint sensor on its back. The device has a larger 3,340mAh battery, which should have a longer battery life than the regular Nova on paper.
Both Huawei Nova and Nova Plus will be available in October in over 50 countries and regions. However, there’s no words on its launching date and pricing in Malaysia at the moment.
