HTC Malaysia today officially launched the HTC U11+ to kickstart the year of 2018! With a bigger screen, bigger battery, and slimmer body, the U11+ is basically an improved version of the U11.
The U11+ sports a 6-inch Quad HD+ Super LCD 6 display with the 18:9 aspect ratio. As the screen is getting longer, it also means that there’s no room for the fingerprint sensor on the front. To solve this issue, HTC has relocated the fingerprint sensor to the back of the phone.
Powering the U11+ is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage. Additionally, the device is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
Like the U11, the U11+ doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack as well. However, every U11+ will come with a pair of USonic Active Noise Cancellation earbuds and a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter too. Furthermore, HTC also claims that the BoomSound speakers of the U11+ are 30% louder than the U11.
In terms of camera, the U11+ packs a 12MP UltraPixel 3 camera with f/1.7 aperture. Its rear camera comes with a full-sensor PDAF technology, which can be found in top DSLR cameras. The HDR Boost technology produces dynamic photographs without slowing down. Selfie wise, there’s an 8MP f/2.0 front camera.
Juicing up the U11+ is a 3,930mAh battery, which also supports QuickCharge 3.0. The U11+ runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with HTC Sense, which comes with a better Edge Sense. In case you didn’t know, Edge Sense is a feature that allows users to “squeeze” the frame to launch specific apps. Just a squeeze will open the Edge Launcher for you to access your favorite apps, contacts, and quick settings. You can also squeeze Edge Sense to access either Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.
Retailing at RM3,099, the HTC U11+ is available in Translucent Black variant only, which means you get to see the inner beauty of the phone. The device will be available for pre-order through Lazada, 11Street, and Shopee from 15th to 21st January 2018. All pre-orders will come with additional gifts — a leather pouch, 8,000mAh power bank, travel kit, notebook, lanyard, and a phone stand. The phone will be available for direct purchase from 22nd January onwards.
