HTC has just launched the One E9+, the plastic counterpart to the flagship One M9+, here in Malaysia. While the device still features high end specs, it now has a slightly more affordable price tag of RM 1,899.
The HTC One E9+ may be considered the plastic or inferior sibling to the HTC One M9+, it still comes with a premium look and feel, by featuring a metal strip along the side, as well as a similar duo-tone design flourish. Its screen is now slightly larger with 5.5” Ultra display at the front, thus being able to offer a higher pixel density of 534 ppi
Under the hood, it is powered by the same 2.0 GHz 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio x10 processor as the M9+ which is paired with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of onboard memory that is expandable up to a further 32 GB via its MicroSD slot. The HTC One M9+ being sold here in Malaysia is the dual-SIM variant.
Despite the One E9+ not having a Duo Camera setup like the flagship One M9+, it still has a 20 MP sensor that comes with a f/2.2 lens and is perfectly capable of capturing 4K quality video. The front on the other hand has a HTC UltraPixel shooter. This means that the One E9+ isn’t going to be blown away by the supposed superior counterpart.
Other notable specs include LTE connectivity, NFC functionality, a 2,800 mAh capacity battery, HTC BoomSound front-facing speakers, and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with HTC Sense UI.
The HTC One E9+ is available in three colors – Classic Rose Gold, White and gold, and Gold Sepia (grey and gold), and will hit the store shelves today from all authorized dealers and resellers for a retail price of RM 1,899.
