HP HyperX OMEN MAX 16

HP took to CES 2026 with one of its most ambitious lineups yet, placing AI firmly at the centre of its next-generation PCs. From ultra-portable business devices and consumer Copilot+ notebooks to powerful all-in-ones and no-compromise gaming machines, HP is clearly betting big on local AI performance, smarter form factors, and stronger security.

One of the most eye-catching announcements is the EliteBoard G1a, a device that completely rethinks what a PC can look like. HP calls it the world’s first full AI PC built directly into a keyboard. Measuring just 12mm thin and weighing only 750g, the EliteBoard G1a integrates the entire PC, dual microphones, and speakers into a sleek keyboard that connects to any external display. Powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processor delivering over 50 TOPS of NPU performance, it’s designed for AI-assisted productivity without the bulk of a traditional laptop. Features like HP Smart Sense, AMD Auto State Management, optional built-in battery support, and HP Wolf Security for Business make it a highly flexible and secure solution for modern professionals. The EliteBoard G1a is expected to land on HP.com in March, with pricing to be announced closer to availability.

HP is also expanding its flagship business lineup with the EliteBook X G2 Series, marking the first time customers can choose between AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm processors on the same platform. The lineup includes Snapdragon X2 Elite-powered models with up to 85 TOPS NPU, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 variants offering up to 180 total platform TOPS, and AMD Ryzen AI versions delivering up to 55 TOPS. These machines are designed to handle demanding AI workloads while remaining thin and lightweight, with some models weighing under 1kg. The EliteBook X G2 series also introduces flexible form factors like the EliteBook X Flip G2i, vibrant 3K Tandem OLED display options, and improved serviceability with a new top-mount design that reduces keyboard replacement time by up to 80 percent. Security is handled end-to-end by HP Wolf Security for Business, including quantum-resistant protection.

For consumers and creators who want top-tier AI performance in a slim design, HP introduced the OmniBook Ultra 14. The company claims it is the world’s slimmest consumer notebook with the fastest AI performance available. Buyers can choose between an HP-exclusive Snapdragon X2 Elite configuration with 85 TOPS NPU or next-generation Intel Core Ultra processors for graphics-heavy AI tasks. Despite being 52 percent lighter than its predecessor and even thinner than a 2025 MacBook Air 13, it still packs a high-resolution 3K OLED display and all-day battery life. A standout feature here is posture detection, which uses AI to encourage better ergonomics by detecting slouching or awkward neck angles. Durability is also a focus, with the OmniBook Ultra 14 passing 20 MIL-STD-810 tests.

It’s powered by Intel Core Ultra 7 processors with Intel AI Boost and can be configured with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GPU for more demanding creative workloads. The OmniStudio X 27 stands out with Thunderbolt Share, allowing users to seamlessly connect a laptop, share webcams, control both systems with one keyboard and mouse, and transfer files effortlessly. It also introduces Surface View, enabling users to share physical sketches or notes during video calls simply by tilting the camera.

New OmniBook Portfolio

Beyond individual models, HP also unveiled a revamped OmniBook portfolio, now clearly segmented by user needs. The OmniBook X Series targets tech-savvy professionals and freelancers looking for premium design and performance. The OmniBook 7 Series focuses on productivity and communication, with Windows Studio Effects and Poly Studio audio for better video calls. The OmniBook 5 Series is aimed at families and students, offering OLED displays and responsive AI performance in slim aluminum designs, while the OmniBook 3 Series brings AI-capable PCs to more affordable price points with a wide range of sizes and processor options.

Chromebooks

HP didn’t forget ChromeOS users either, announcing several new Chromebooks. These include the Chromebook Plus x360 14 with a 360-degree hinge and 2K display, the Chromebook Plus 14 with enhanced collaboration features, the Chromebook x360 14 for flexible multitasking, and the Chromebook 14, which focuses on everyday productivity with up to eight hours of battery life.

Rounding out HP’s CES 2026 showcase is a major push in gaming, with HyperX and OMEN now unified under a single HyperX master gaming brand. Leading the charge is the HyperX OMEN MAX 16, which HP claims is the world’s most powerful gaming laptop with fully internal cooling. It delivers up to 300W of total platform power, driven by Intel Core Ultra 200HX or AMD Ryzen AI processors and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. A redesigned OMEN Tempest Cooling Pro system with a third fan and Fan Cleaner technology keeps thermals in check, while a 16-inch OLED 240Hz WQXGA display ensures ultra-smooth visuals. OMEN AI further simplifies performance tuning with one-click, game-specific optimization, removing the need for manual tweaking.
