Fresh from Taipei, the ASUS ZenFone 4 series finally made its official debut at #WeLovePhoto press conference! This time around, the company unveiled the ZenFone 4 Pro, ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, ZenFone 4 Selfie, and ZenFone 4 Max Pro.
ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro
The ZenFone 4 Pro is the latest flagship device from the company. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display and the fingerprint sensor is now below the display. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB RAM and up to 128GB expandable storage.
In terms of camera, the device packs an 8MP Sony IMX319 f/1.9 selfie camera. It still has a dual-camera setup on the back — 12MP Sony IMX362 f/1.7 lens + 16MP Sony IMX351 telephoto lens. The rear camera comes with 4-axis OIS as well as 0.03s TriTech+ AutoFocus (DualPixel PDAF, Laser AF & Continuous).
The device features dual speakers as well, one on the front and the other one at the bottom. It has a 3,600mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat on top of the latest ZenUI 4.0. The device comes in two colors: Moonlight White and Pure Black.
ASUS ZenFone 4
The regular ZenFone 4 is pretty much similar to the ZenFone 4 Pro, but specs are slightly less powerful. The device sports a 5.5-inch Full HD Super IPS+ display, instead of AMOLED panel like the Pro version. Powering the device is either a Snapdragon 630 SoC or Snapdragon 660 SoC, depending on whether is it a 4GB RAM model or 6GB RAM model. Its 64GB internal storage can be expanded via MicroSD card up to 2TB.
As for its camera, ASUS took a different approach this time. The ZenFone 4 still has a dual-rear camera setup, but there’s a 12MP Sony IMX362 f/1.8 lens + an 8MP 120˚ wide-angle lens. It still has the same 4-axis OIS and TriTech+ AutoFocus system. Selfie wise, there’s an 8MP f/2.0 front-facing shooter with 84˚ field of view.
The ZenFone 4 also has the same dual-speaker setup as the Pro version, it runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat on top of ZenUI 4.0 too. However, it has a smaller 3,300mAh battery. The device comes in three colors: Moonlight White, Mint Green, and Midnight Black.
ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro
And the selfie-centric smartphone is back! The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro sports a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display covered by a 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage.
The device packs a 16MP rear camera with 0.03s PDAF tech. Selfie wise, it has a 24MP DuoPixel technology which combines the two 12MP front cameras (regular & 120˚ wide-angle lenses). There’s also a Softlight LED flash too!
The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro has a 3,000mAh battery. Sadly, it uses a MicroUSB port instead of USB-C port for charging. It also runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat on top of ZenUI 4.0. The device comes in three colors: Deepsea Black, Sunlight Gold, and Rouge Red.
ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie
The ZenFone 4 Selfie features slightly less powerful specs compared to the Pro version. It has a 5.5-inch HD IPS display covered by a 2.5D curved glass. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage.
In terms of camera, the device also has a 16MP rear camera with PDAF tech. Selfie wise, it has a 20MP f/2.0 lens and a 120˚ wide-angle lens. Like the Pro version, it also has a Softlight LED flash too!
The device packs a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat on top of ZenUI 4.0. The device comes in four colors: Deepsea Black, Mint Green, Rose Pink, and Sunlight Gold.
ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Pro
The ZenFone 4 Max Pro is a phone that has a pretty good battery life. It sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, which will consume less power compared to a Full HD display. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage.
As for its camera, the ZenFone 4 Max Pro has a dual-camera setup — 16MP f/2.0 lens + 120˚ wide-angle lens. Selfie wise, there’s also a 16MP f/2.0 front camera with a Softlight LED flash.
As it is a device that focuses on battery life, it’s not surprising to know that the device has a 5,000mAh battery. Like the previous Max models, the ZenFone 4 Max Pro also supports reverse charging as well. The device also runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat on top of ZenUI 4.0. The device comes in three colors: Deepsea Black, Sunlight Gold, and Rose Pink.
That’s pretty much for the whole #WeLovePhoto press conference coverage. Unfortunately, ASUS hasn’t showcased the ZenFone 4 Max during the launch, but the device is pretty much the same as the ZenFone 4 Max Pro. All these devices are expected to available in Malaysia, though the ZenFone 4 Pro’s availability is still an unknown. More information regarding the availability and pricing are coming up!
