Apple has officially updated its iPad Pro lineup with the brand-new M5 chip, available in both 11-inch and 13-inch models. Alongside the M5, the new iPad Pro also features Apple’s N1 wireless chip and C1X modem, further enhancing connectivity and efficiency.
The M5 chip—debuting across Apple’s latest devices, including the 14-inch MacBook Pro and Vision Pro—features up to a 10-core CPU (4 performance and 6 efficiency cores) and a 10-core GPU with dedicated Neural Accelerators in each core. Apple claims the M5 delivers up to 3.5x faster AI performance than the M4, alongside a 1.5x boost in ray tracing and 20% faster video transcoding in Final Cut Pro. Memory bandwidth has also increased to 153GB/s for improved multitasking and creative workloads.
With the new chip, the iPad Pro now supports 120Hz external display output and Adaptive Sync (VRR) for compatible monitors. Storage models have also been upgraded—256GB and 512GB configurations now come with 12GB of RAM, while the 1TB and 2TB versions retain 16GB of RAM.
Charging has also improved. The iPad Pro now supports the same fast charging standard as the iPhone 17, achieving a 50% charge in 30 minutes (11-inch) or 35 minutes (13-inch) with Apple’s 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.
Aside from these performance and connectivity upgrades, the rest of the hardware remains unchanged. Users still get the stunning Tandem OLED Ultra Retina XDR display, 12MP rear camera, 12MP Center Stage front camera, four-speaker system, and Thunderbolt/USB4 connectivity.
