Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 17, bringing some of its most advanced Pro features to the standard iPhone lineup for the first time. The highlight upgrade is the inclusion of ProMotion, enabling an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz for smoother scrolling and gameplay. The display can also scale down to 1Hz when idle, improving efficiency.

The new 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR screen is brighter than ever, peaking at 3,000 nits, and now supports an Always-On display for quick access to the time, widgets, and Live Activities. Protecting the screen is Apple’s Ceramic Shield 2, which introduces a new scratch-resistant coating and enhanced anti-reflective properties to reduce glare.

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 is powered by the 3nm Apple A19 chip, featuring a six-core CPU that’s 1.5x faster than the A15 Bionic in the iPhone 13, alongside a five-core GPU that delivers more than double the graphics performance. The new Apple N1 chip also debuts, offering Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support for faster and more reliable connectivity. The Neural Engine has been improved as well, enabling Apple Intelligence features.

Battery life is rated at up to 30 hours of video playback, and with Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter (60W Max), the iPhone 17 can reach 50% charge in just 20 minutes.
On the back, the iPhone 17 features a dual 48MP camera system, comprising a 48MP main camera with 2x lossless optical zoom and a 48MP ultra-wide camera with macro support. With Photographic Styles, users can fine-tune images in real time, with improved skin tone rendering. Like the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air, it also has an 18MP Center Stage front camera. iOS 26 also introduces a new Bright style, designed to enhance skin tones and add vibrant pops of color across photos.

The iPhone 17 will be available in lavender, mist blue, sage, white, and black, with storage options of 256GB and 512GB. Pricing as below:
- 256GB: RM3,999
- 512GB: RM4,999
You can pre-order the iPhone 17 starting this coming Friday, 12 September at 8 PM through Apple Malaysia’s official website. It will be released in Malaysia on Friday, 19 September – just like in the United States.
