Taiwanese manufacturer Acer had an eventful day at Mobile World Congress 2016 as the company has launched its new Liquid Jade 2 flagship and the Liquid Zest smartphones.
Acer’s first offering here is the flagship Liquid Jade 2, which features a 5.5″ Full HD AMOLED display with a viewing angle of 176-degree. The phone is shielded by the famous Corning Gorilla Glass and comes with Zero Air Gap technology that the company claims will help improve readability under sunlight. The Liquid Jade 2 will be powered by a rarely heard of hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor with an Adreno 418 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. For the camera, the Liquid Jade 2 will have a 21 MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording support, while an 8 MP camera is located at the front of the phone.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the Liquid Jade 2 has to be the storage. By itself, the smartphone will come with 32 GB of storage. That said, the Liquid Jade 2 will also integrate local storage with cloud stage, effectively giving it 1 TB of hybrid storage. The pricing for this phone will be revealed at a later date. The Liquid Jade 2 is certainly an intriguing prospect and one phone to look out for in the near future.
Acer’s other new addition is the Liquid Zest and its 4G variant, the Liquid Zest 4G. For the 3G variant of the Liquid Zest, it will feature a 5″ HD IPS display and will be powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. It will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box and will also come with DTS Sound Studio. For the camera, the Liquid Zest packs an 8 MP rear auto-focus camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front camera. The Liquid Zest 4G is mostly the same as the 3G version, but it will sport a slightly lower 1 GHz quad-core processor and will feature DTS HD Premium Sound technology.
