CES 2023: Acer Announces New Nitro Laptops and More

Acer showcased and announced multiple products for this year’s CES. Among these showcases, there are some noteworthy highlights for those who want to know what to expect for this year’s tech and features on Acer’s products.

New Nitro Laptops with New Intel CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs

Acer’s Nitro lineup of gaming laptops will now receive the latest Intel 13th Gen Processors and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs. Among the first laptops to receive this hardware update is the Acer Nitro 16 and Nitro 17. Both laptops come in different display sizes with different refresh rates. These devices also feature an updated fan system with liquid metal thermal grease for improved cooling.

Both laptops could be expected to arrive in the States around May this year, with a starting price tag of $1,199.99

New Acer Predator Products

The Acer Predator lineup also received several new additions, there would be 2 gaming laptops — Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18, and two new gaming monitors — Predator X45 and Predator X27U.

The Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18 are Acer’s flagship gaming laptops. Both devices will sport a completely new design for this year, supplemented with upgraded thermals to improve performance. The latest 13th Gen Intel i9 or i7 HX processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPUs will be featured in both models.

Both the Helios 16 and the Helios 18 will be available around March with a starting price of $1,649.99 and $1,699 respectively for Helios 16 and Helios 18.

The Predator X45 is a 45-inch UWQHD (3,440×1,440) 800R curved display. The gaming monitor supports 98.5% of the DCI-P3 color gamut for stunning imagery and is also Rheinland EyeSafe-certified. The X45’s display is comprised of OLEDs with support of HDR10 and a peak brightness of 1000 nits to produce excellent contrast for more detailed images. The Predator X45 will be available around Q2 this year, with a starting price of $1,699.

On the other hand, the Predator X27U is a flat 27-inch WQHD (2,560×1,440) panel with 98.5% DCI-P3 coverage. Like the X45, it is also Rheinland EyeSafe-certified. It has a peak brightness of 1000 nits and HDR10 capabilities to deliver impressive visuals. The Predator X27U will be available around Q2 this year, with a starting price of $1,099.99.

The Updated Swift Lineup

The Swift series also received several updates, mainly the debut of the new Swift Go lineup. The lineup consists of two new thin and light laptops that are paired with vibrant OLED screens. There are two models, the Swift Go 16 and Swift Go 14. The OLED displays on both models are capable of 500 nits of peak brightness, have a 100% DCI-P3 color range, and have VESA Display HDR True Black 500 certification. The only difference is the screen size, the Swift Go 16 has a 16-inch 3.2K OLED display with a 3,200×2,000 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, whereas the Swift Go 14 has a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display with a 2,880×1,800 resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Both displays have a 16:10 aspect ratio.

The Swift Go 16 and Swift Go 14 will be available in June and May respectively, with prices starting from $799.99 and $849.99 respectively.

For this year, the Acer Swift X 14 was also updated with the latest 13th Gen Intel Core H-series and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU. The Swift X is also paired with a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Swift X 14 will be available in April, starting from $1,099.99.

Besides that, the Swift 14 also sports a new and improved design. The device has a thin and light CNC-machined unibody that is made from aerospace-grade aluminum, measuring only 14.95mm thin, and weighs only 1.2kg. The Swift 14 will be available in March, starting from $1,399.99.
