Sony Mobile to launch the Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact this Friday

Announced earlier this month at IFA 2016, Sony Mobile will be launching the Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact this Friday.

Sony Xperia XZ

The Xperia XZ is the latest flagship device from the company, it features a brand new loop surface design which made of ALKALEIDO material. The device sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display, not QHD display like most flagships nowadays. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 3GB RAM and 32/64GB expandable storage, Malaysia is likely to get the 64GB variant because it is likely to be the dual-SIM variant.

The Xperia XZ has a 23MP camera with PDAF, laser auto-focus and RGB-IR sensor (for color sensing). Just like the Xperia Z5, it is IP65/IP68 water and dust resistance.

Sony Xperia X Compact

The Xperia X Compact is a compact version of the original Xperia X with a 4.6-inch HD display. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor with 3GB RAM.

The Xperia X Compact shares the same loop surface design, but it is made of polycarbonate plastic. It has the same 23MP camera with PDAF, laser auto-focus and RGB-IR sensor (for color sensing) like the Xperia XZ. However, the device is not IP65/IP68 water and dust resistance.

The pricing of both devices remains unknown, but do stay tuned as we will be attending the launch.
