Samsung Malaysia today has officially launched the Galaxy S8 and S8+, which are the current flagship devices from the South Korean giant.
Both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ come with a Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display, however, the display size of the S8 is 5.8-inch while the S8+ is 6.2-inch big.
Both devices are powered by an Exynos 8895 octa-core 10nm processor with 4GB of RAM and a massive 64GB of storage that can be expanded via MicroSD card.
Samsung’s senior manager, Julian Thean, mentioned that the company wants to provide with a better experience when users take wefies. Based on that goal, Samsung provided the 12MP Dual Pixel f/1.7 rear camera and an 8MP AF front camera. “Bixby” is the device personal assistant that helps provide information when we take photos of objects.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ also received some interesting features such as the iris scanning for improved security measures, I managed to try it out myself and find it quick verify and unlock the S8.
Juicing up the S8 and S8+ are a 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh battery, respectively. Both devices support fast charging on wired and also wireless, which is compatible with WPC and PMA.
Colors options wise, both Galaxy S8 and S8+ are available in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, and Maple Gold. The Galaxy S8 is priced at RM3,299, while the Galaxy S8+ is priced at RM3,699. Both devices will be available for purchase beginning 5th May 2017 at all Samsung Experience Stores and authorized dealers.
Additionally, the company will be having a roadshow from 5th to 7th May 2017 as well, those who purchase the Galaxy S8 or S8+ at the three locations — Sunway Pyramid (Klang Valley), Queensbay Mall (Penang) and Sutera Mall (Johor Bahru) — will get a Limited Edition Starter Kit that consists of a clear cover, a screen protector, a wireless charger stand, a USB Type-C cable, and a 5,100mAh battery pack.
Furthermore, customers can also enjoy 50% off retail price for the new Gear VR with Controller (RRP: RM499) and new Gear 360 (RRP: RM999) for every purchase of the Galaxy S8 or S8+.
As for those who pre-ordered the phone, Samsung collaborated with Grab to prepare a special arrangement for thousands of pre-order customers by offering them complimentary rides to their preferred store to complement their exclusive early bird purchase.
