OPPO to launch R7 Series in Malaysia on 7th July

Just a month after its official announcement, it’s time for the OPPO R7 Series to enter Malaysian market. OPPO Malaysia has sent us an invitation card regarding to the launch of the R7 Series in Malaysia.

According to the media invite, the launch event is set to take place on 7th July, which are just around two weeks from now.

OPPO first announced two R7 Series devices last month – R7 and R7 Plus. Few days later, the company has announced the R7 Lite at the launch in Indonesia.

The OPPO R7 Series features metal unibody and 2.5D curved screen. Unfortunately, there’s limited information about the R7 Lite specs.

As for the R7 and R7 Plus, both devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 3 GB RAM. The R7 comes with 16 GB internal storage while the R7 Plus has 32 GB internal storage, both are expandable via MicroSD card though.

The screen size between the R7 and R7 Plus is different too – 5″ vs 6″. Both feature AMOLED display with Full HD resolution and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Both R7 and R7 Plus come with a 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP OmniVision OV8858 front camera. However the R7 rear camera is using Samsung 3M2 sensor with ISOCELL technology, while the R7 Plus uses Sony IMX278 sensor.

Battery wise, the regular R7 packs a 2,320 mAh battery, the bigger R7 Plus packs a massive 4,100 mAh battery. According to the official specs sheet, both devices are running on ColorOS 2.1 but the R7 is based on Android 4.4 KitKat, while the R7 Plus is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. There will be an update for the R7 in the future.
