OPPO officially unveiled the R9 series in its home country of China. Just like its predecessor, the new R9 series comes in two different variants – R9 and R9 Plus.
The standard R9 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display with the pixel density of 401 ppi. The device is powered by a 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755 processor with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage alongside a hybrid SIM slot that supports MicroSD with storage of up to 128 GB.
As for the R9 Plus, it has a larger 6-inch 1080p AMOLED display. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with 4 GB RAM and either 64 GB or 128 GB expandable storage.
Both R9 and R9 Plus have a 16 MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The R9 has a 13 MP f/2.2 rear camera whereas the R9 Plus has a 16 MP f/2.0 rear camera.
Battery wise, the R9 packs a 2,850 mAh battery and the R9 Plus has a larger 4,120 mAh battery. Both devices support VOOC Flash Charge technology.
Both R9 and R9 Plus have a fingerprint sensor integrated with the home button, which claims that capable of unlocking your phone in just 0.2 second.
The OPPO R9 series is running on ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The devices will be hitting Malaysia in mid-April.
