OnePlus 6T Goes Official, Now Available for Pre-Order

It’s that time of the year again, the OnePlus 6T has just been officially announced! As usual, the “T” variant only has some minor improvements, meaning it’s not a huge difference compared to the 6.

The OnePlus 6T now comes with a smaller notch with the waterdrop design, much like the OPPO F9. It now has a larger 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display, though still at Full HD+ resolution. The company claims that the phone now has a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5%.

In terms of performance, the phone is still powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB non-expandable storage. The base model now comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, by the way.  Using the new Smart Boost technology, the OnePlus 6T provides one of the best gaming experiences with faster load times, smoother gameplay and consistent frame rates.

Additionally, the phone now has an in-display fingerprint sensor, which users will be able to unlock the phone in 0.34 second. Sadly, the 3.5mm audio jack has been removed, though OnePlus will include a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.

In terms of camera, it still has the same dual-camera setup on the back — 16MP f/1.7 with OIS + 20MP f/1.7. The front 16MP f/2.0 camera is in charge of selfie duty. OnePlus has also improved the camera software, which comes with features like Nightscape and Studio Lighting. Nightscape is a feature that tries and creates brighter low-light images with lower noise. Studio Lighting allows you to manipulate the direction of the light source illuminating the subject of your portrait.

The phone now packs a 3,700mAh battery, larger than the OnePlus 6. It still supports OnePlus Fast Charge technology, which provides 5 hours of usage with just 10 minutes of charging. Unfortunately, there’s still not wireless charging. The phone runs on OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie that supports its own gesture navigation system.

The OnePlus 6T is now available for pre-order until 7th November via OnePlus official store @ Lazada. The first 100 pre-orders will get one year extended warranty and also an RM200 rebate on the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Headphones. The phone will go on sale on 8th November.

In terms of pricing, the OnePlus 6T will be available:

• 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: RM2,588
• 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: RM2,888
• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: RM3,188

Color options wise, it is available in Midnight Black and Mirror Black.
