MWC 2017: Moto G5 and G5 Plus Officially Unveiled

Lenovo has announced the Moto G5 and G5 Plus at MWC 2017 — Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus.

The differences between both devices are the G5 comes with a 5-inch Full HD IPS display while the G5 Plus comes with a slightly larger 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display. Besides that, the G5 is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor with 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage, while the G5 Plus is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage.

In terms of camera, the G5 has a 13MP f/2.0 rear and 5MP f/2.2 front cameras. As for the G5 Plus, it has a 12MP f/1.7 rear camera with Dual Pixel technology and the same 5MP f/2.2 front camera.

Both devices are running on Android 7.0 Nougat with close to the stock Android experience. The G5 and G5 Plus also now have metal frames instead but the sides are still metal-effect plastic for saving cost purposes. Anyway, it is still an improvement compared to G4 plastic frames. The Moto G5 has a 2,800mAh battery while the Moto G5 Plus has a 3,000mAh battery. The G5 Plus even supports TurboPower for up to 6 hours of power in 15 minutes of charging.

The Moto G5 pricing starts at USD $229 for the 2GB RAM + 16GB storage version while the Moto G5 Plus pricing starts at USD $299 for the 3GB RAM + 32 GB storage version.
