LG reveals global release plans for the Zero

LG has announced the global roll out of its first metal-clad smartphone which has been strikingly named the Zero. The South Korean company says that the mid-range device will be launched in Taiwan later this week, and will be soon followed by key markets in Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

There was however, no official word on the pricing of the device – prices and participating carriers will be announced locally at the time of availability, LG announced. There has also been no specific launch time frame mentioned for markets other than Taiwan.

For those outside the loop, the Zero was first launched back in September this year in LG’s home of South Korea, where it goes by a different moniker: Class. It was launched with a price tag there of around $340. Then, earlier last month, the device was spotted being listed on the company’s Italian website, carrying a price tag of around $320 so other markets around the world should expect the LG Zero to be selling at a price of $320-$340
