Huawei announces P9 and P9 Plus with Leica lenses

Huawei has just officially announced the latest flagship devices – the P9 and P9 Plus. Both are the first smartphones co-engineered with Leica Camera AG.

The Huawei P9 sports a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS LCD display covered by a 2.5D glass. Powering the device is a Kirin 955 chipset with either 3 GB RAM for 32 GB storage option or 4 GB RAM for 64 GB storage option.

The main highlight of the device is its dual-camera setup. The P9 comes with two 12 MP rear cameras with Leica SUMMARIT lenses. One of the rear cameras uses to capture color, while the other one is actually a monochrome camera to capture the detail. The device also comes with independent depth measurement chip and hybrid-focus technology.

Huawei P9_2

The Huawei P9 is running on EMUI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. You can charge the 3,000 mAh battery via a USB Type-C connector.

Huawei P9 Plus_1

As for the P9 Plus, it is basically same as the regular P9. The device, however, does feature a larger 5.5-inch Full HD Press Touch display with AMOLED panel.

Unlike the P9, the P9 Plus only comes with 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM option. Huawei claims that the dual-IC Rapid Charge feature will give you 6 hours of talk time after a 10-minute charge of its 3,400 mAh battery.

Camera is same as the regular P9 – dual 12 MP rear cameras cameras with Leica SUMMARIT lenses, independent depth measurement chip and hybrid-focus technology.

The Huawei P9 Plus comes with stereo speakers, which can also adjust their output depending on the phone’s orientation. The device is also running on EMUI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Huawei TalkBand B3

Besides the P9 and P9 Plus, Huawei has also announced the TalkBand B3. The TalkBand B3 is a wearable device that comes with a PMOLED display features 80 x 128 resolution covered by a 3D curved Gorilla Glass.

The device supports Bluetooth 4.2 and comes with health tracking capabilities. Like its predecessor, you can answer your phone calls using it as well.

The TalkBand B3 boasts a 91 mAh battery. Huawei claims that it has the battery life of up to 6 hours of calling, 4 days of typical use and 6 days of Bluetooth-connected standby time with just a 1.5-hour charge.

The Huawei TalkBand B3 comes in three versions – Active, Classic and Elite.
