ASUS ZenWatch 2 price starts at RM 649

Malaysia’s smartwatch market just got a lot more interesting as ASUS has finally revealed the pricing for their long awaited ZenWatch 2.

 

ASUS ZenWatch 2 will come in two variants, the “Sparrow” variant which is designed “For Him” and a “Wren” variant that is  designed “For Her”. The only difference that separates these two is the fact that they have different sized screens with the Sparrow coming in at 1.63-inch while the Wren will have a slightly smaller 1.45-inch screen.

Both variants will have the same 320 × 320 AMOLED display for interfacing and viewing on the watch. Under the hood, the Android Wear watches will be running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz paired with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage.

On the top of the display sits a curved 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 “cover lens” to protect from bumps and scratches, while the device itself is water resistant coming with an IP67 rating. Besides that, the smartwatch will include support for Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi. There is also a built-in microphone for voice and touch commands and a 400 mAh battery.

The ZenWatch 2 will be available in two sizes and three stainless-steel case colors — Silver, Gunmetal and Rose Gold — with 18 different strap materials and color combinations.

The ZenWatch 2 with rubber strap would be sold at RM 649, the ZenWatch 2 with leather strap  will set you back RM 699 while the ZenWatch 2 with metal-gun strap tops the list by retailing for a cool RM 899. The ZenWatch 2 is expected to go on sale at the end of January.
