Announced at CES 2017, the ASUS ZenFone AR will be launching in Malaysia on 4th July 2017, next week. The ZenFone AR is a next-generation smartphone that represents a significant advance in mobile virtual-reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies. It is the first smartphone that will be Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready.
The ZenFone AR sports a 5.7-inch WQHD Super AMOLED display protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 8GB RAM.
The device measures at just 8.95mm thick and weighs 170g, the thinnest and lightest Tango-enabled device ever. It has ASUS TriCam system — a 23MP f/2.0 camera, motion tracking camera, and a depth-sensing camera. There’s also an 8MP f/2.0 front-facing camera for taking selfies.
The ZenFone AR has a 3,300mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 supported. The device runs on the latest Android Nougat on top of its ZenUI.
Unfortunately, ASUS Malaysia hasn’t revealed the official pricing yet, but we expect it to be more expensive than the ZenFone 3 Zoom. Stay tuned as we will keep you posted.
