ASUS announces three new ZenFones

ASUS today has announced a few devices at an exclusive ZenFestival event in New Delhi, India. The company has unveiled three new ZenFones – ZenFone 2 Deluxe, ZenFone 2 Laser and ZenFone Max.

ZenFone 2 Deluxe

The ZenFone 2 Deluxe basically is pretty similar to the original ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML). It has the same dimensions as well but comes with a new multifaceted polygonal finish.

That’s the only difference between the Deluxe edition and the original version. The rest of the specs are pretty similar – 5.5″ Full HD display, 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras, dual SIM, 4G LTE, 3,000 mAh battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The ZenFone 2 Deluxe comes with 2 variants as well – Intel Atom Z3560 and Z3580. Both variants feature 4 GB of RAM. The device has 64/128 GB internal storage, and is expandable via MicroSD card up to 128 GB.

ZenFone 2 Laser

The ZenFone 2 Laser focuses more on camera with a 13 MP PixelMaster f/2.0 camera and laser auto-focus technology.

ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser

There are a few versions of ZenFone 2 Laser as well – 5-inch (ZE500KL & ZE500KG), 5.5-inch (ZE550KL) and 6-inch (ZE601KL). The 5-inch models feature a 720p display, while the 5.5-inch and 6-inch models have a 1080p display. All these are covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The 5-inch models are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, and the rest are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.

Keep it in mind that all these models only have TFT panel instead of IPS. The ZenFone 2 Laser has 3 GB RAM for the 6-inch model and the rest have 2 GB RAM. Storage wise, there are 8 GB and 16 GB options with MicroSD card slot.

ZenFone Max

The ASUS ZenFone Max is a mid-range smartphone entirely focused on battery life. It has a massive 5,000 mAh battery that should provide long-lasting battery life.

The rest of the specs are pretty normal. It sports a 5.5″ 720p IPS display covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 2 GB of RAM.

The ZenFone Max also features a 13 MP PixelMaster camera with f/2.0 aperture, and there’s a 5 MP front-facing camera too. The device also comes with laser auto-focus technology as well. The 16 GB internal storage is also expandable via MicroSD card.

The ASUS ZenFone Max is a dual SIM device which runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI 2.0 on top.

Availability wise, the ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe and ZenFone 2 Laser are likely to be available in India only. As for the ZenFone Max, it is said to launch in October. Let’s hope that ASUS will bring it to Malaysia as soon as possible.
