The 2nd generation Apple Watch is now official! Apple today officially announced the Apple Watch Series 2 at Apple Special Event.
Previous Apple Watch was splash proof, but now the Series 2 is 50 meters swimproof. Apple states that the watch’s speaker will eject the water itself.
The Apple Watch Series 2 is powered by an upgraded processor, called the S2. It’s a dual-core processor, which is 50% faster than the original Apple Watch. Its GPU is also now 2 times faster than before.
The watch also sports a 2nd-gen display, which has up to 1,000 nits of brightness. Additionally, it also has a GPS built-in to perform mapping on its own, without a phone.
Furthermore, the Apple Watch Series 2 also comes in ceramic edition, which is even tougher than stainless steel.
The Apple Watch Series 2 is running on watchOS 3, which is now snappier and you can scribble Chinese words as well.
Apple also refreshed the original Apple Watch with a dual-core processor, and it’s called the Apple Watch Series 1.
